- Providing legal advice on the implications of separation
- Formalising amicable agreements between partners
- Negotiating settlements between parties without necessarily going to court
- Mediation and alternative ways to resolve disputes
- Advice regarding rights and obligations in relation to child support
- Pre-Nuptials, Cohabitation Agreements and Financial Agreements - negotiating agreements between parties entering into a relationship
- Advice regarding issues under the Property (Relationships) Act, including de facto and same sex couples and others in a domestic relationship
- Working with other experts, such as accountants, to understand the client's circumstances and to obtain expert evidence where required
- Advising clients in relation to Apprehended Violence Orders, issues
concerning safety, partner abuse and referrals to counselling services.
- Representing clients in court proceedings relating to divorce, property settlement, maintenance and parenting issues
- Representing children in contested court proceedings
management and/or disposal of jointly held assets
